Books: A day wandering around Zurich

On my way to New York I had a day to myself in Zurich. I can report back that it's a lovely city, indeed. It made the top spot of Monocle magazine's top 25 most liveable cities in 2009; easy to see why. Charming, pretty streets full of lovely shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes, and dotted around the kind of little cinemas that make you instantly want to go and see a film. Everyone there looked happy & relaxed, as well they might living there. I guess the only downsides were that the whole place felt very 'money' (Ferraris racing round the streets at night), and it was all a little too perfect for my taste – I tend to prefer places that are a bit rougher around the edges. But still, it was great there – I'd recommend it if you're considering a Euro mini-break.

I sought out the bookshops, and saw this in one, which made me smile, mainly because there was a whole wall display of them.
