Went to Deptford yesterday to visit a bookshop set up by the amazing Charlotte Troy, a friend of a friend. Her shop is called CT Pocket, & is in the Bearspace Gallery on Deptford high street.
She didn't really want to pose, but here she is with the pricing gun. Anyway, there are lots of nice things about the shop; really great selection of titles on art & photography, lovely grey walls & everything good to look at, and what's not to love about a shop with a teeny tiny mirrorball:
Charlotte used to work at Thames & Hudson, then at the Hayward Gallery & she's always doing interesting things. I bought a book of essays on photography which she wrapped up for me
So was a treat to unwrap it & read it in bed this morning.
Deptford was pretty cool; it's only one stop on the overground from London Bridge. It's scruffy, but there are some interesting little shops and galleries opening on the high street. Charlotte says it's full of artists (Goldsmiths College is nearby) & there's a big streetmarket. S'where it's at, I guess.

Is that her logo? Where can I get a sticker like that – It’s for my laptop!
Looks like the Man with Van couldn’t fit the office chair in the transit..
