What's not to like about literary festivals? You get to meet all your favourite authors, hear them talk about their books, enjoy some great discussions & debate usually in some lovely places, like Hay-on-Wye, Port Eliot, Oxford, or maybe Dartington Hall in Devon, home of the Ways With Words festival. Fellow bookclubber Chloe and her husband Videl, both dear friends of mine, have just started helping to run the business with Chloe's mum, who set it up; the Telegraph did a nice profile on them here
Their festival runs from July the 9th to the 19th. If, like me, you can't get down to Devon this year, you might like to follow them on facebook, where you get interesting snippets about what's going on, plus special extras like 'A Little Lesson in Good Kissing' I just found tucked away in the 'notes' (under the >> sign). I'm wishing them luck and good weather, though I imagine Dartington Hall is probably a delightful place to be even when it's raining.
