Back from holiday in Mexico. Saw this lovely book in a bookshop we found one day – my Spanish is only restaurant-level, so I have no idea what it's about, but I loved the photography, the pared-back design & the whole thing printed on beautiful uncoated paper stock. A treat:
Having recently attempted to design a book in a very minimalist style at work, I can report that it's actually MUCH harder than you would think. Space presents a lot of different challenges – I thought it would be easy, but it wasn't.
Anyway, am reading 2066 by Roberto Bolano, so will review it when I'm done. It's 898 pages long, but even with a week off I'm still only on 618. The annoying thing is that the first part of it was really slow-going. It only really picked up on the planeride home, and now I'm racing along & trying to find time to finish it. But oh, if only I was still reading it by the sea.
