Fellow bookclubber Amanda got to play with an ipad the other day, and it rocked her world. We're both excited at the possiblities for books, and having fun dreaming up ways to ipadify – hmn, wonder if that word will catch on, somehow I doubt it – some of our projects at work.
While thinking about this, I came across a good site the other day, The Literary Platform 'dedicated to showcasing projects experimenting with literature and technology'. It's nicely done, and lots of interesting links, including a lovely Alice in Wonderland project for the ipad. The video is a bit of a crazy rush through; maybe they didn't want to give too much away. But you'll get the idea.
And it turns out there's an iphone App, published by Enhanced Editions, for our current book club book, The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ. Read about it here. And here's author Philip Pullman talking about it. He sounds a bit unnerved by the whole thing – and try not to be too distracted by wondering what's in that jar on the windowsill like I was.
