I found a new (to me, anyway) bookshop in Paris, and I'm in love. It's called Ofr, is within walking distance of where I was staying in the Marais and is a treasure trove of wonderful magazines, photography, art and design books.
Seems they're not just a bookshop, but a gallery, a publisher & other things besides. Their card says 'Beautiful Editions, Art Books, Elegant Guides, Homemade Jewellery, Deep Ceramics, High End Leather Bags, Trendy Scarves, Scented Candles, Bio Cosmetics, Perfect Sunglasses, Live Music and Exhibitions that will move you Forever (…)'
I didn't see the sunglasses – it's only March, maybe it's not the season yet – so I can't say if they were perfect or not. But based on the rest of the shop I'd say they probably would be. I like the idea of 'deep' ceramics – as in volume, or concept, I wonder? Who can say. Anyway, it was a really good place to browse around, and I came away with some lovely new magazines that I'll post about separately. If you're in Paris, here's where to find them.
